An annotated checklist of new and recent records of fish from the Mariana Islands published recently is further described. This checklist contains additional species not described previously when presented at the 11th Indo-Pacific Fish Conference held in Auckland, New Zealand in 2023, and adds significantly to the known biodiversity of fishes from the archipelago. The checklist expands our use of the terms reef fishes, inshore fishes or shorefishes to include the mesophotic and rariphotic zones, as well as deeper-dwelling species that inhabit these zones at higher latitudes. The vast majority of these records, including 72 of those previously listed and 108 of those more recently identified here, are based only on photographs. Some of these have been posted online, with or without comment on their significance, on the website www.guamreeflife.com or that of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Ocean Exploration program, but many have not. We include at least 117 additional species that have recently been discovered in the Mariana Islands that occur or are likely to occur at depths of approximately 500 m or less. Further, we provided photographs and other information, or otherwise validate species recorded from offshore banks, seamounts, and deep slope habitats of the archipelago.
